A short history on Sugawara Sogo Budo Yushinkan Dojo: The Philippine branch was officially established on 1998 when Sugawara Tetsutaka Sensei appointed Eduard Lapuos Jr. as the head teacher in the Philippines. They’ve been studying and teaching the 600-year old Japanese martial art: Katori Shintō-ryΕ«, which focuses on the use of traditional Japanese weapons.

They’ll be doing a demo of the following:

β€’ Kenjutsu (Japanese swordsmanship)
β€’ Iaijutsu and Tachiai Battojutsu (Japanese sword drawing techniques)
β€’ Ryotojutsu (two swords)
β€’ Kodachi (short sword)
β€’ Bojutsu (long staff technique)
β€’ Naginatajutsu (glaive art)
β€’ Sojutsu (art of the spear)
