Farmer’s daughter will be waiting to serve you the taste of Cordilleran Cuisine. Expect dishes like pinikpikan, the chicken stew of Cordillera. Maybe fancy trying the Cordillera’s smoke meats called kini-ing or etag. If you crave a much healthier option we recommend you try their pak-pako salads. What’s pak-pako you may ask? Well, it’s an edible fern!

Battle of the Bards!

ＳＩＸ ＨＵＮＤＲＥＤ ＳＴＲＩＫＥ！

Welcome warriors! Do you have what it takes to be a warrior of the mind?

B͟E͟F͟O͟R͟E͟ signing up, please R͟E͟A͟D͟ the rules clearly:

A bard contender/s must choose a song from one of the sagas of EPIC, the musical by Jorge Riviera-Herrans.

Once a song is chosen, they may choose to do a solo, duo, trio, etc depending on how many “voices” they would need to sing a song. They may also opt to “double voice” wherein they sing multiple voices.

Only one bard contender/s may choose a song. Once a song is chosen no other bard contender/s may choose the same song.

Songs will be sung in order and per saga.

Should a song from any saga not be chosen by any contender, an attendee singalong may ensue.

Themed attires are a must when performing on the Arena (Stage)

No bard contender/s may be repeated! This means if a bard has performed or joined a group, even if they are a side “voice” means they cannot join for another performance. Doing so will result in a minus in points for that bard contender/s.

No props, poppers, etc may be used! While we value your stellar performance, we want to focus on the “singing” aspect of this contest.

Criteria for Judging:
40% Vocal Quality
Clarity of voice, emotions in singing, proper tones
30% Overall performance
Theatricality, facial expressions, stage presence
20% Themed Attire
Fits the look of who they are portraying or is Greek-themed
10% Audience Impact
Ability to entertain and move the audience

For a total of 100%, Only three bard contender/s will be declared winners!

Have you been wondering how to add more magic into your costume? Maybe you are struggling to find the perfect stays you could wear? Fear not for Hiraya’s workshop is here to help us navigate our way!
Hiraya is the combined forces of AC Hernandez & SJ Ocampo who have represented the Philippines in the international cosplay stage multiple times and won awards. Aside from judging cosplay events, this dou have been helping the cosplay community by sharing their knowledge about their craft through making tutorials and hosting workshops.

Imagine your sword shimmering with light as if it stole the moon’s glow or your armor having a deathly luster as if the god of death looms over it. Come enter the LED Workshop as AC will share some tips and tricks about LED lights. Learn how to add LED lights to your costumes and weapons, the ingredients you need, the necessary tools for it and many more. Soon the darkness of the faire will be no more as your illuminated weapons and costumes will serve as a beacon of light for the next Ren Faire.

Once upon a time, a noblewoman’s outfit would not be complete without a pair of stays. Step back in time as you learn how to create a fashion staple of olde. Come and join SJ de Ocampo as she guides you through the process in making your own pair of stays. Through this workshop you will be taught how to draft your own pattern, master the construction process and learn how to wear stays just like how they did before. So grab the opportunity and craft your own beautiful pair of stays that you can then strut on the next Ren Faire.

AC Hernandez’s cosplay journey started in 2008, since then he has emerged as a major player in the cosplay community. AC has earned his spot among the cosplay elite as he is half of the team that represented the Philippines in the Anime Festival Asia: Asia Regional Cosplay Championships 2011 in Singapore and in the World Cosplay Summit 2021 in Nagoya, Japan. Their team bagged the title of Grand Champions at AFA ARCC 2011 and was awarded Best in Costume (Brother Award) at the World Cosplay Summit 2021.

AC is now working locally as part of productions in theaters and events. As a skilled puppeteer and costumer he has been part of nine theater productions. His expertise extended to the Lion King: Musical International Tour back in 2017 and most recently he was involved in creating the giant costumes in Ang Parokya ni Edgar Musical “Buruguduystunstugudunstuy” by Newport World Resort.

From local theater shows to international cosplay competitions, AC’s passion for costume design continues to shine in every project he works on.

𝐌𝐞𝐞𝐭 𝐒𝐉 𝐝𝐞 𝐎𝐜𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐨: 𝐀 𝐂𝐨𝐬𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐲𝐞𝐫, 𝐂𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐦𝐞𝐫 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐂𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐦𝐞 𝐃𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐞𝐫 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐃𝐚𝐯𝐚𝐨 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐲, 𝐏𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬!

In 2011, SJ de Ocampo started her cosplay journey and since then she slowly made her mark and became one of the most prominent individuals in the industry. She is half of the team that represented the Philippines at Pop Culture Hiroshima 2018 in Hiroshima, Japan and the World Cosplay Summit 2015 in Nagoya, Japan.

SJ continues her influence on the cosplay scene as a Guest Judge in over 30 cosplay events locally and internationally, including World Cosplay Summit Qualifiers, World Cosplay Summit Alumni’s Choice 2022 in Nagoya, Japan and AnimeCon 2017 in The Hague, Netherlands.

SJ’s specialty is creating detailed handmade costumes and she now produced 35 cosplays to date. Now working as a costume designer and costumer, she recently designed the costumes for Ballet Manila’s Florante at Laura.

From her international and local cosplay accolades to her theatrical design, SJ is truly a significant figure in the field of cosplay and costuming.

𝙏𝒓𝙞𝒏𝙠𝒆𝙩 𝙩𝒓𝙖𝒅𝙞𝒏𝙜 𝙞𝒔 𝒔𝙝𝒂𝙧𝒊𝙣𝒈 𝒕𝙝𝒆 𝒎𝙖𝒈𝙞𝒄 𝒂𝙣𝒅 𝒋𝙤𝒚 𝒘𝙚 𝙝𝒂𝙫𝒆 𝒊𝙣𝒔𝙞𝒅𝙚 𝙖𝒏𝙙 𝙝𝒐𝙥𝒊𝙣𝒈 𝒚𝙤𝒖'𝒍𝙡 𝙨𝒉𝙖𝒓𝙚 𝙮𝒐𝙪𝒓𝙨 𝙩𝒐𝙤!

Trinket Trading is another Ren Faire PH staple! Celebrate your newfound friendship through the joyous act of exchanging Trinkets! Trinkets can be so many things! From crafted items, charms, or just something that interests you that you think might interest other people too!

Even a pebble can be a trinket to trade because of its shape, or texture, or its type, even its meaning! Trinket trading is fun because its more about the meaning and intent a person would like to share with another! A simple gesture like that comes a long way.

You don’t necessarily have to trade for the sake of it! If you appreciate someone just because you like something about them, go ahead and give them one! Also, be kind to a fellow faire-goer without a trinket to trade as not everyone is well-versed with trinket trading after all, it is only the 2nd year of Ren Faire PH.

But, for Faire-goes who want to be identified as Trinket Traders (because we would want to receive something too, amirite?). RFPH will have a trinket trading booth near the entrance where you can get an identity badge! How does it work? Simply go to the booth, show your trinkets, and trade your trinket for a “Trinket Traders badge” Wear it where its most visible and trade away! This badge will help you spot other trinket traders you can trade with. Once you run out of trinkets, we request that you hide your badge. This is with the intent that we wouldn’t want to discourage any trinket traders who plucked their courage to come up to you to trade only to find out you have no more trinkets left (If that were me, I’d still give you a trinket out of awkwardness but would feel bad especially if I wanted to receive something as well, so being extra mindful of others goes a long way! 
Please be reminded that Trinket Trading means no monetary value should be exchanged because the real worth of this trade is leaving people with a piece of you through the spirit of giving. Thus, let each trinket exchanged create a web of friendship that will long endure forever.
